Today, September 17th, is moving day for Mezophere.com! The reason for the move is mainly to get away from the annoying :85 after every link on the site and improve the speed. Until now it has been hosted on a "2mb" up connection. I quote this 2mb because that is what the ISP claims, yet it is more like 56k up at peak traffic. I bet the ISP meant to say 2mb up shared by two thousand customers. Anyway, after the move the site will be at home on port 80, and hopefully faster. The move should not take too long, just a matter of getting all the files copied up to the new server and then fixing the database version incompatibilities I am bound to run into. If it all goes well it should be done by the time most of you read this. On a side note; it is getting pretty boring uploading the templates my self. I have had a several upload, but not enough. If you created a template, or know of a nice one submit it! |

The old/over used idea clip art is a perfect representation of the new direction of mezophere. Hosting hundreds of 3mb files on a slow connection simply does not work. Installing hundreds of templates on several content management systems works but does not make sense. Why download and display all of these templates when they are already displayed elsewhere? The site will now be a giant database of template demos and downloads. It will look and feel exactly the same, with direct downloads and a bunch of pretty pictures for you too look at. The only difference is traffic will be diverted to the sites who host the template to view and download it. I will continue to keep the files available for download until the database grows. Once It looks to be big enough I will remove all of the files hosted on the mezophere server and rely soley on the files and links in the database. The sumbission system is already created so feel free to start submitting your links templates. A few rules on submission: The demo link must lead to an active demo or full screenshot of the template, not a tiny thumbnail of the corner of the template. The download link must lead to a file, not a page where the user needs to register and wait 20 minutes to get the file. Last rule: All templates must be free. Any link to a template for sale will be deleted. This change should help to speed the process along and allow the creators and hosts of templates to get some traffic back to their site. |

Drupal CMS is finally working. One line in a file can make all the difference and after a week of tinkering that single line of code finally works. Feel free to submit your templates for drupal to add to the collection. I will also be setting up a link section where template creators can post links to their work. e107 is now included in the demo section of the site. e107 features a built in template changer making it a breeze to theme and a very easy cms to use. This was my first experience with e107 and I am very impressed. The administration is very clean and straight forward with a striking resemblance to phpnuke's admin panel. |

SMF and Dragonfly are Ready |
The very popular Simple Machines Forum has been added to the site. Right now there are only 12 templates available for the forum. With its built in template preview system Dragonfly CMS was an ease to ad the the site. Currently 9 templates exist and of course there are more to come. |
